Monica Molina Austin

Monica is a leadership coach and organization consultant with over 15 years of experience in the corporate, education and not for profit sectors. Monica has a proven track record in coaching individuals to maximize work and personal performance and in helping organizations formulate and execute internal relations improvement strategies. Using an appreciative approach that identifies and builds on strengths and preferences, Monica’s coaching and consulting style is designed to promote high performance and positive, measurable results.

Prior to founding Westwind Consulting Group, Monica served as Executive Director of Human Resources at the Boston Globe Newspaper and Co-Chair of the Diversity Council at The New England Media Group. Prior to that Monica was a human resources internal consultant and coach at the New York Times newspaper. Both newspapers and the New England Media Group are owned by the New York Times Company, the top publishing company on Fortune Magazine's List of America's Most Admired Companies.

Monica has received her Master Coaching Certification from The Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, one of the leading executive coaching certification organizations in the United States, and an International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited program. Monica is a certified instructor in The Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument® (HBDI®), Voices 360 Degree Feedback and Architect, Team Management Systems and Civil Treatment. She has served on The Conference Board’s Council on Executive Coaching from 2003 to 2006.

Monica holds an MBA in Organizational Behavior and Labor & Human Resource Policy from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations. She received her BA in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is proficient in both Spanish and Portuguese.
